Jessica & Ryan contacted me just a few months prior to their Manhattan wedding. They were planning something low key and elegant. They wanted the day to be laid back, stress free, and fun, and they managed to do just that with the perfect amount of metropolitan glamour. The weather can be unpredictable in January, so I loved that they chose to keep everything within walking distance, right around Union Square. Our route to the church from the hotel was filled with the perfect photo locations, and the weather decided to add a little extra magic with a light snow fall, before really coming down as the party started that evening. And, in case you can't tell by the photos below, what a party it was! We had such a blast working with Jess & Ryan, and I was thrilled to catch up with a handful of clients-turned-friends! Here are some of my favorite photos from their wedding day:
The forecast for Amanda & Matt's wedding said sunny, but the snow started ten minutes into my drive. By the time I arrived at the Time in Nyack, cars were sliding on the roads, making me really grateful for two things: that all of my vehicles have 4WD and that I've spent fifteen winters becoming a proficient New York slippery roads driver. Those, of course, were the least of the things I was grateful for on that snowy January day, because I had a beautiful, modern prep location, a church filled with a sea of poinsettias, the cutest ring bearer, a bride and groom who were not only great together, but so laid back and brave enough to venture out in freezing temperatures and a blizzard to get the most magical photos. I couldn't feel my toes when we got back inside, and it was completely worth it.
